WELCOME,

Welcome to the IB Survival Guide! As an IB student (class of 2024), I've spent many, many hours scouring the internet for tips on everything from how to write an OPCVL for history to the right way to cite a chemistry IA. There's so much content out there on surviving and succeeding in IB, but it all seems to fall into one of two categories; either basic, unhelpful tips (e.g. "don't procrastinate") or written by genius overseas students scoring perfect 7's on every exam- talk about overwhelming! My CAS project aims to fill the gap in helpful, practical advice attainable to the average motivated IB student.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

As an IB graduate and current student at the University of Florida based out of Palm Harbor, Florida (United States), I have a lot of love and respect for the IB program. I wrote the majority of this site as a senior while still in the program, but I have updated some articles to include my results and extra reflection. My HLs were Chemistry, Theatre and English, and my SLs were Analysis and Approaches (Math), Spanish, History of the Americas (Jr) and Film Studies (Sr). Many of my experiences and perspectives may be specific to the structure of my school's IB program, but ultimately I hope that my page will be helpful in some sense to any IB student who may stumble across it. Please reach out with article suggestions, questions, alternative perspectives or anything else! Yours,
